Responding to feedback from my one to one tutorial with Kat.

I recently had my one to one tutorial with Kat to discuss and show her some of my final ideas and how I could develop them. Some of the most consistent feedback was how I can develop my concept and visual design more so that It relates more to traditional Elizabethan make-up. So, I began to look at my original design I wanted to do and looked at what could be removed to make my look more balanced and mixed between traditional and contemporary.

I observed the eye and forehead area mainly as I didn't really want to change anything about my mouth section I had designed. I felt that the heavy black eyeshadow I had applied to my design was taking away a lot of the traditional Elizabethan white base theme so, I removed this black colour replacing it with white like the rest of the face. But I still wanted to add something to the eyes to make them pop and also tie the look together without clashing with the black lips I had created. I began to research Elizabethan symbolism that discussed colour and its different meanings, I chose the colour gold. Gold for me is a very expensive and special colour that always makes me think of wealth and royalty. Elizabethans who wore the colour gold were socially and financially important, because of this symbolism I thought It would be the perfect colour for my character Elizabeth as she is a character seeking revenge, power and wealth.
