Elizabeth's Ladies in Waiting; Elizabeth Brdyges.

I chose Elizabeth Brydges as my lady in waiting as I felt after researching her, she seemed to have had a empty, abrupt and slightly depressing life. Although I am just assuming of how she lived her life and felt, as a independent researcher I choose these words to describe her life as, whilst looking further into her life there are no sources that tell me her life was fulfilled, interesting or 'exciting', compared to some of the other Ladies in Waitings' scandalous and juicy stories. 

Elizabeth Brydges was the daughter of Father Giles Brydges, 3rd Baron of Sudeley. Her Father Giles was an English Courtier in the reign of of Elizabeth I, so before Elizabeth even became her lady in waiting her family already had some sort of connection with the Queen. Elizabeth was married to John Kennedy but had no children with him and it has been said that her husband already had a wife and child prior to their marriage in Scotland, when discovering this Elizabeth left her husband John and wanted her marriage examined and terminated. As a Lady in Waiting, Elizabeth was Queen Elizabeths 'Maid of Honour' and was one of the few ladies who attended Queen Elizabeths funeral. 

My Makeup design plan is, to create a dark look that appears as if Elizabeth's innocence and niceness is fading as her whole life, she has given to others and now she is ready to take her revenge. The use of mainly black colour in the makeup will symbolise her black heart and loss of innocence and identity. Because there is very little back story to Elizabeth's short life, I loved that I could take her and create a alter ego for her that could be powerful and beautiful and everything that I think she would have wanted to be.
