The above links take you to the official Vogue website were an article discusses the story behind the creation of the beautiful Givenchy Face jewellery collection. Pat McGrath was the make-up artist for this look created by Riccardo Tisci backstage of the fashion show and Luigi Murenu was the hair stylist. In reference of my hair and makeup ideas for the Contemporary Elizabethan project, I felt that this collection was very inspiring and insightful in regards of thinking of ways to create a theme of attitude and power into my look. The theme of this collection appears to be heavily inspired by the 19th century but with a classy contemporary theme, this is similar to what I aimed to create for my design something that holds an Elizabethan theme with a sense of rebellion and attitude. I love how extravagant, intricate and bold these pieces of face jewellery are, the makeup worn by the models in this collection appears to be very minimal and natural making the jewellery stand out and catch your attention. The hair appears to be sleek, shiny and formed into delicate perfect curls similar to what girls from the 'Chola' subculture would wear. Chola subculture supposedly "blends glamour with an inherent toughness or feminine strength";Shepard, Escobedo Julianne, TheGuardian.com (http://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2014/aug/15/-sp-chola-style-cultural-appropriation-fashion-crime).The hair seems to be styled into a pulled back plait leaving all the curl detailing to feature at the front of the face.
