Alexander Mcqueen Runway
Autumn/Winter  March 2013-14
(Vogue.co.uk)

Why I find this image Inspiring.

- I am not sure who the photographer of this image is, but I have contacted Vogue Magazine by email to ask as the photographer credits are not featured on the online article.
- I love the angle of this photograph and how it makes the model appear, in this photograph, the moving feathers on the clothing are captured in the shot, this makes me imagine a story behind the clothing. What is this characters status? Where is she going? Is she going to kill?
- The facial expression of the model makes her appear to be a powerful, wealthy, ruthless and deadly character
- The beautiful head piece the model wears by, Alexander Mcqueen adds drama to the photograph and also the character of the model
- The background of this image is also really beautiful, I love the elements of rich golds, greens, and soft lighting mixed into a subtle blur, holding a Royal Elizabethan court feel to the Photograph

'Plate 7 Zita and Theresa Jungman, 1927.
Beaton Portraits 1928 -1968.
 National Portrait Gallery, London.
Oman Productions Ltd.
(2004).

Why I find this image Inspiring.

- This photograph is by Cecil Beaton, He is an photographer I have previously researched for inspiration
-I sourced this image from the book ' Beaton Portraits' and I fell in love with this image
-The models appear to be lying of on a plastic texture flooring covered in flowing water, this is one of the reasons I find this photograph inspiring because it stands out so much to me, the models seem to merge into the background making them appear as if they are floating and sleeping in the ocean
-I would like to maybe recreate this image as i find it a really beautiful fashion and beauty portrait idea because of the interesting composition of the models laying on the floor and also their heads disappearing into each other
-The black and white filter on this photograph creates a glossy effect that compliments the models sheen on their hair and also the reflection and wetness of the water
- The glossy effect of this photograph makes everything in the image look really glow and glamorous
- I find it interesting that the models are lying on water, wonder what the story behind it is

'Plate 3 Nancy Beaton as a Shooting Star, 1929'.
Beaton Portraits 1928 -1968.
 National Portrait Gallery, London.
Oman Productions Ltd.
(2004).

Why I find this image Inspiring.

- I found this photograph from Cecil Beaton's book, ' Beaton Portraits'
- This photograph stood out to me because of the glossy effect the photograph has
- I find the image inspiring because of the obvious glamour it holds and how angelic the model appears in this shot
- The models skin appears to be flawless and glow a lot even in black and white, and just like the title of this photograph she does appear to look like a star
-The photograph looks like it belongs in part of a fantasy christmas book or a fashion campaign for Vogue or Bergdof Goodmans
- The use of texture and material in this photograph compliments the glossy finish of the image and the bouncing of light onto foil which then illuminates the models skin, It all just works together beautifully making something imaginary look real

Liams Graduation Surprise.Kensignton Roof Gardens.
July 2015.
Taken By Matida Salmon on a Samsung Galaxy A5.

Why I find this image Inspiring.

-This is an image of my boyfriend Liam, taken on a dinner date I had planned to celebrate his University Graduation
-This image is inspiring because I had planned this dinner as a surprise for him so that he felt proud of himself
- He never acknowledges his intelligence, hard work and achievements, so I planned this for him so that he could start accepting himself in a way
- After having a difficult three years, this graduation for me was important to celebrate whether he wanted to or not
-Although he never intended to celebrate at all, after seeing the dessert surprise specially made for him I realised this is what he needed as he was very happy and appreciative
- It was a romantic, intimate and fun dinner and this image for me symbolises love, pride and the future

'The consequences of Drug abuse' June 2015
By Matida Salmon, taken on Samsung Galaxy A5.

Why I find this image Inspiring.

- This is one image taken at my previous college art exhibition, that featured our final art pieces made for our final grade
- This image is inspiring for me as I found the art and design course incredibly hard and struggled constantly, I was predicted a pass for my final grade and to get on to my dream current course at Southampton solent University I had to achieve a Distinction grade
- After putting in lots of hard work and nearly losing my hair and did my best and some how achieved a distinction
- Although I made my final art works to put me at a level where I could achieve a good grade, I personally love the works I created and the theme of drugs I followed with
-I learnt a lot about myself on the previous course and realised how much I will work for something if needed
- This image symbolises, acceptance, hard work, pride and achievement

Me and My sister In Jamaica.Taken on an iPhone By Matida Salmon.
August 2015.

Why I find this image Inspiring.

- I took this photograph on a family holiday I recently had in August
- The photograph was taken on the last night of my family holiday when we all dressed up for one final dinner
- This photograph is inspiring to me because it symbolises how much I love my family and how rare it is for all my family members get to book time off from their busy schedules and spend time together
- The significant importance of this photograph to me is that I remember telling my sister that night how anxious I was to attend university and have to be so far from all of my family and friends, but she made me feel so comforted and excited and insured me I would be fine, encouraging me to take tons of pictures that I could look at when I felt homesick or down
- This photograph is inspiring to me because it symbolises adulthood, family, acceptance, independence and sacrifice

My Dad In Jamaica.Taken on a Samsung Galaxy A5 By Matida Salmon.
August 2015.

Why I find this image Inspiring.

- This is a photograph I took of my dad on a recent family holiday in Jamaica
- Both of my parents are from Jamaica so whenever we go 'home' they instantly feel relaxed
-This photograph is inspiring to me because my dad is a very patriotic man and has always told me to be passionate and proud of my roots
- My dad came to England when he was 16 with his mum leaving his late dad to work and send money back home, although he constantly talks about going back 'home' when he is retired
-As soon as my dad got off the plane as we landed in Jamaica, he back instantly relaxed, happy and himself which was very refreshing and nice to see
-I took this image whilst me my mum and dad all went on a shopping trip and then decided to take some pictures for memories, although bittersweet because I know my dad didn't want to come back to England it was really nice to see him reminisce his childhood
