I recently visited the library and checked out the book; Inge Grognard,Ronald Stoops. I initially decided to take the book as I found the photographs inside really unique and interesting. As I began looking through the book and observing these images properly, I realised that each image featured some form of makeup on a model who was posing in a very interesting or structured way. Because of this I decided to do some further research on these two artists and discovered that Inge Grognard is the make-up artist of the photographs and Ronald Stoops is the photographer. Together they created this artistic and visual book which shows the collaboration of both artists who intend to 'inspire others'. Inge Grognard describes her makeup style as ' Romantic, Poetic and Dark' in her interview with the magazine Dazed, which I feel is communicated a lot in the imagery; Inge Grognard, Ronald Stoops - Dazed Interview (http://www.dazeddigital.com/fashion/article/8733/1/inge-grognard-ronald-stoops).
Below are some images I sourced from the book which I found inspiring and very interesting to look at. All types of ordinary people are featured in this book, all featuring some form of makeup and style that makes them look unique and compliments the background of the image. The make-up that consists of scratch like effects particularly interest me as when I first saw them they made me think of a makeup design that could communicate the scarring and backlash Queen Elizabeth received as Queen, but she is wearing them with pride.
