Whilst searching for inspiration I discovered the fashion designer, Corrie Nielsen and I adore her works. Corrie Nielsen is a UK based American fashion designer who previously studied a Bachelors degree in Womenswear fashion design at Central Saint Martins. Corrie is often referred to as the next Alexander Mcqueen because of her quirky and bold fashion designs and has also been mentored by Vivienne Westwood for many years. Her 2011 A/W collection; 'A Winters Melodie' is what made me find Corrie Nielsen and also made me want to see more of her garments, as when I first saw the clothing It instantly created a Elizabethan and royal aura. The hairstyles worn by the models in the collection also remind me of the Elizabethan textures and styles I have been practicing and learning in hair lessons as they consist of tight curls and braids. In response to finding Corrie Neilson's website I decided to try and contact her through email, to see If I could discuss with her the primary sources and inspirations that encouraged her to make her 'A Winters Melodie' collection and see if there is any reference to the Elizabethan Era.

I enjoyed looking at this collection of Corrie Nielsen's clothes as they made me think of different outfits my character, Elizabeth Brydges would wear. I have named my character Elizabeth Brydges, 'The 'Revengeful Bride', as my character is based on Elizabeth's dark alter ego who is reincarnated to take her revenge and be fabulous and powerful. Like my character, I felt that the dresses in this collection held a lot of power and drama and reminded me a lot of the big fluffy detailed dresses Queen Elizabeth had worn in her famous, symbolic portraits.
