Makeup Practical x Eyes and Lips.

I really enjoyed my recent make-up technical lesson as we got to practice the application of eye and lip makeup. Applying eyeshadow and other eye products is somethings I feel I am most confident with as a make-up artist. We were instructed to set up as usual and apply a base to our model if we wanted to but it was not compulsory. Then Sue provided us with some sheets that showed different eye shapes and what eye make-up would best suit the shape. We had to assess our partner and then create a eyeshadow look of any colour we wanted that would suit their eye shape. My model had even eyes, so I decided to create a warm eye look with golds and brows as she had a versatile eye shape and also a nice brown eye colour.

I started of by applying my smash box eye primer, to prime my models eye lids before applying colour and then set the primer with some concealer and illamasqua setting powder. I wanted to experiment with my Mac Neutrals palette , the illamasqua Liquid Metals Palette and my Ben Nye pressed colour palette.

I started off creating my eye look with the Mac Neutrals palette

-Concentrating the darker colours in the crease of the eyelid and outer rime of eye
-Concentrating the lighter gold colour in the centre and inner corner of the eye
-Added some gold pigment from my sleek highlighting palette to the inner conner of the eye for a extra pop

Skin Type - Combination/Oily
Contraindications- None

Finished Outcome using the Mac Neutrals and Sleek Palette.
After creating my eye look, we were then instructed to apply mascara to our partners lashes. We were to apply as much as we thought was needed, asking our model to look ahead and then apply mascara wiggling the brush right up the root of the lash making sure it coats the whole of the lashes, and then did the same for the bottom lashes too.
After applying my eye make-up we were then instructed to move onto the eyebrows, I followed my models natural shape, first brushing at the eyebrows hairs and then applying some eyeshadow from my ben nye palette.

Finished Outcome Eyebrows Using the shade Black brown from my Ben Nye palette.

After applying makeup to the eyes and brows Sue showed us how to apply lip product, which would allow us to follow our models natural lip shape. Starting by shaping out our models cupid bow cross the lip product into a 'x' shape then filling in the rest of the lip shape from there.
Just to be different I decided to use 'Phenonmena' from the Illamasqua Liquid Metals Palette, as my lip colour also because the texture of the liquid eyeshadows were super creamy and felt like a lipstick.
To finish off the look I applied a small amount 'Phenonmena' to my models lids to tie the look together.
